Booksybooks. an online bookshop.

What I hope from this little venture is to make it easier for people who loves books and bargains to surf through & shop for cheap books online.
My intent is to spread these books around and reinvest their values into new readers.

The books are second-hand of course and comes with faults here and there. But I feel that gives them character. Personally, I love wondering where these books come from and who has read them before. I hope you will come to feel the same way too...

American Dream Global Nghtmare by Ziauddin Sardar and Merryl Wyn Davies

This title brings into sharp focus the merger of celebrity, corporate power, government and empire which has become an essential part of America's belief in itself as a nation. Ranging from the vision of the Founding Fathers to the myth-making machine Hollywood, the book investigates the persistent dream in which America is determined to live, and the dangerous 'sleep of reason' necessary to sustain it. America's cultural delusions are a grotesque imbalance between fantasy and reality, a danger to us all as, propelled by power, mythology and paranoia, the US pursues its dream of empire. As recent events in Iraq and elsewhere have shown, it is a dream whose dark side is death, suffering, perpetual fear, an increasing divide between rich and poor, a squandering of human future, and the relentless building of more and more pretexts for future wars.
